Did you know you can settle your case before going to court?

In order to be divorced in New Jersey, spouses must either come to an agreement on all the issues between them or have a judge decide their issues for them.  Only then, will a court grant a divorce. Therefore, if one party cannot come to terms with the divorce, there can be a long, drawn out and expensive court experience for both parties.  Recently, more and more people are attempting to resolve their issues before court intervention, utilizing collaborative divorce and mediation. For many reasons, these options may not be practical for everyone, but divorcing couples should be aware of the possibilities.
